Hi Friends!
Welcome to my first blog post!
If you know me, you know that this has been a long time coming. Starting a blog is something that has been on my mind for years... probably close to 10! Which is something I really shouldn't share because I imagine you're thinking, "Well Leslee....what have you been doing all this time?" Am I right? Questioning myself and my ability - that's what I've been doing. So with the encouragement of my sweet hubs, my Momma, and great friends - I'm going to go ahead and take a leap of Faith! It may be a slow moving process, but I will show up!
Here's a little about myself.
I grew up in a small ag town in Central California. It's a town that people often complain about - but King City, California helped to raise me into the woman I am today. It's filled with farmers, cowboys (& ruckus) and the people in it make up the very definition of community.
I love all things creative - interior design is my passion, photography fills my heart, and creating brings me peace. Whether it be taking an old piece of forgotten furniture and giving it new life, or photographing our every day to savor it in the future!
A little over a year ago, my husband and I bought our own Fixer Upper on a small piece of land. Within three months of it being ours, we made it our HOME putting in tireless work before & after our day jobs and with the tremendous help of my mom & dad! I'll share the progress of our home with you in future posts. We're still constantly working on our home and love the sense of accomplishment we have after finishing a project.
My mother taught me to be creative. She is the designer that I look up to most! She taught me what fierce love looks like for your people, not just in words - but in actions. And she's the very reason that I have such a passion for design.
My father taught me to be a hard worker. There is no separation in what a man can do and what a woman can do - if you're an able body, you can do the work!
My brother taught me to be strong. He may not know it - but growing up I watched him as he displayed what it is to be a strong individual and to protect yourself and what's right.
My sweet husband has taught me to pursue my dreams! He has always been my biggest cheerleader and often times has much more confidence in my capabilities than I have in myself. He's the biggest blessing that God has given me - that's for certain!
I look forward to sharing our story with you and bringing you along for the ride as we continue renovations, learn new creative outlets, and occasionally share a meal or two! I hope you'll join me by subscribing to stay in touch as this little blog of mine progresses! Be sure to comment below & say hi! I'd love to know who has visited this little corner of mine.
Go Out & Do Good!
xo,
Leslee
